Our server hosting company, CloudVPS, will be performing firmware upgrades to their virtual private server (VPS) storage environments on Friday 28 March from 00:00-02:00 CET. The following Akvo services will each be unavailable for around 5-10 minutes during this time while the upgrades are being performed:
- Akvo.org web site and blog
- Akvo RSR
- Akvo Sites
- Akvo Pages
- Akvo FLOW reporting and file services
These upgrades are necessary to prevent outages similar to one that CloudVPS experienced recently in another cluster of storage environments (presumably not one of ours). Their storage environment vendor identified a firmware bug that caused the outage, which will be repaired with the upgrades scheduled for 28 March. This upgrade should restore the expected levels of stability and performance of our servers.
We will update this incident once the upgrades have been performed and our servers are back online.
